Fall Into the Holidays!

Beginning October 4th

Focus on Fiber

We’ll set up a floor loom and give you the opportunity to see weaving demonstrations and take workshops on the art.  You may even get the chance to help create some beautiful shawls or other pieces!  Also see spinning demonstrations and award winning work from some of our area and hometown fiber and textile artists!

Sally shares her techniques for creating beautiful colored scarves using shaving cream, silk dyes and a microwave! You'll go home with 3 scarves of your own creation.

Card & Ornament Making for Kids
with Lara Gustafson

"I Made It Myself!"  Kids ages 5-12 are welcome to come for an hour of Christmas creating.  We will be making 2 Christmas cards and an ornament for you to take home and share with your family and friends.  All materials will be provided, so just bring yourself, your creativity, and your sense of fun! There will be 2 sessions, each one hour long, so choose the one that fits your schedule best.  The projects will be the same for both sessions.  Class size will be limited to 10 kids, so sign up early!

Collage Calendar Book Making
with Lara Gustafson

Join me for 2 evenings of creating.  We will be making a personal calendar using old Bingo cards and other repurposed/recycled items. I will be providing all materials needed to make you calendar.  If you have an special items or photos you would like to add, feel free to bring them with you.  Also, please bring your favorite adhesives (wet and dry), scissors, and paper trimmer, if you have one. Note that this is a PROJECT class, rather than a TECHNIQUE class.  If you happen to learn something new along the way, fantastic, but the class goal is the calendar project. Class size limited to 10, so sign up early!

The Swinging Bridge Studio is brought to you by Story City’s Greater Chamber Connection.  It is devoted to providing gallery space for area artists to share and display their work.  Our goal is to offer showcase opportunities and a workspace for both artists and workshop participants.
